The Segway has now been around awhile, but it has not taken off (excuse whatever puns you can read into this). While I admire the entrepreneurialism, I appreciate even more the proof that there are some holes in technological determinism. Sometimes, even if you build a nifty device, it may not pay off.
Of course, its limited success raises some questions? Are consumers (especially the Americans targeted in the initial campaign) actually active enough to walk rather than segway? Or do they prefer to drive a block or two, instead?
