Good piece. I heard an interview with some Syrian Kurdish leaders. They hate Assad, but don't trust any of the anti-Assad opposition, since the latter are all Arabs. So they're sitting on the sidelines, much to the chagrin of the opposition forces. They're not a huge group, but there are enough of them to matter - and they have kin nearby with their own issues, who may or may not want to intervene across the border into Syrian Kurdish territory.
